This weekend my sister was in town and we were all hanging out at my parents. I was in the kitchen cooking meat for super nachos, rubbing my belly and my dad walks up and starting rubbing his belly. We both turn and look at my sister and mom. They laugh and my sister joins in with us :) mom pulled out the camera and snapped this picture of the three pregnant bellies in the family...I love it!! I love how dad has his arms :) Due dates left to right: June 10 (25 weeks), April 20 (32 weeks), 1984/1987/1994.

This week was great with the exception of the countless nights of insomnia! I am having the hardest time sleeping. I am so exhausted, but when I lay down I can't shut down my mind long enough to go to sleep. Or if I can, I can't get comfortable for whatever reason. As I am getting bigger I find it more and more difficult to get comfortable in bed. If I lay on my left it pulls here, if I lay on my right it pull there, and there is no laying on my back for a long period of time. Earlier this week I finally left my bed at 1:45am, went to one of our extra bedrooms and laid in there. I was in there for about 30 minutes and decided to try the futon in the office. I laid there and wore myself out trying to get comfortable, so I went back to the other bed and fell right asleep. We have 4 beds in our house, and I tried out 3 of the 4 that night! The only reason I didn't try the 4th was because it's in what will be Colton's room and there is so much crap in there that I would have had to clear a spot for me to walk and lay on the bed!! Oh well, hopefully this weekend I can play catch up :)
Went to the DR yesterday and got to hear Colton's heartbeat; it was 160 bpm. The DR had a hard time getting a good signal because Colton kept moving around as soon as he put the doppler up there; it was kind of cute! Also, last night I was laying in bed and he apparently got the hiccups!! I've only noticed it one other time, but it was nothing near like it was last night; he had a cute little rhythm going and every 3-4 seconds I could feel him popping in there. It's just amazing :) :)

I feel like my posts are becoming more and more repetitive...my pregnancy has been super uneventful, which I'm totally thankful for though!! I am starting to realize more and more everyday how quickly the pregnancy is passing by! In December Kyle bought a weld up building for my stuff so that I wouldn't have to keep 'nice' things in the shop/barn with his stinky stuff! haha :) Anyway, he bought it then and it still isn't up yet. So far he has the floor frame done and two walls welded together, but the floor frame has no 'floor' and the walls are not attached to the floor frame yet. I was hoping to be able to get the furniture and crap moved out of Colton's room and get it painted over spring break. The room looks like a tornado has ran through it! It has turned into my catch all room, or as I lovingly refer to it as 'the crap room.' It has a queen size bed, night stand, dress with attached mirror, glider rocker, bassinet, crib in the box, crib mattress, changing table in the box, stroller & carrier, a box of Kyle stuff from Abilene, dog crate and other random baby/house items just in the room...that's not counting the Christmas tree and decorations in the closet. I've tried to contain on my 'crap' to one room, and I've only over flowed into the office closet with 2 car seats I bought in November. It's just getting a little frustrating because I really want to get the bed down and take stuff out I don't plan on keeping in there so I can get Colton's stuff together and ready :) time is a ticking!! I realized to day that spring break starts March 9th, so that's just over 2 weeks away! Hopefully we can get some pretty rain free weather and Kyle and get the shed finished up :) Wishful thinking, but I really would like to get all that stuff done while I can still do it! I don't really want to be up a ladder when I'm 8 months pregnant, but I guess I may have to be if the shed isn't done by then...maybe I will just start moving my crap into the shop and see if that speeds up the process any! haha!! I guess nesting is setting in more and more...
Here's a couple pictures a girl from work took this morning--technically I guess this would be 24 week pics but it'll do :)

Realization...
So...I just realized that I'm 6 months pregnant...yeah yeah I know I'm 23.5 weeks, but I've always thought about it in weeks, not months. So 23.5 weeks = 6 months. Crazy crazy CRAZY! I'm only 3.5 weeks away from being the in third trimester. I just feel like I should have so much more done by now...like I should have the crib up and nursery ready to go. I have it all bought just not ready. I guess I still have a few more weeks before I really need to worry about it. Oh goodness...I feel the anxiety coming on for some reason!! Calm down Laura...calm down!
I've had people telling me for the past few weeks that I don't look pregnant, and this and that, and it didn't really bother me...okay I lied...it does bother me. I don't know why, other than I too thought I would be bigger than this by now. I feel like I'm barely showing and look more 'fat' than pregnant. Now that I realize I'm 6 months, not 5 months like I originally thought, it makes me feel...freakish....if you will. I understand that each person is different and that it takes longer to show on your first pregnancy than the second, but still. I just thought I would be bigger than I am by now. That I would 'look' more pregnant. I look pregnant to me and Kyle, but it's because we both know what I looked like before. I guess I really just want more people to just know I am without questioning it. I know it will come in time...but I just don't think I will really get that big. I really thought I would just because I wasn't that big to start with, but I didn't take into account that I have a long torso and that I worked out prior to pregnancy. Apparently that just all affects it more than I realized.
Ok pitty party over! :)

Valentines Day
This morning at work I received the most flowers a gal could ask for! They are super fragrant, and the best part is the card...It says "Happy Valentine's Day! Love Kyle & Colton" It was so sweet and made me tear up when I read it. This is our 4th Valentines together, and is by far the best! I cannot wait to see what the next few months have in store for us as we go from two to three!

Bump-Date: Week 22
Baby Size: 11"; Spaghetti Squash
Baby Weight: 1 lb

This week was rather uneventful for me, with many sleepless nights. My sister is 30 weeks pregnant, and was admitted into the hospital for a UTI that quickly turned into a kidney infection early Wednesday morning. At one point she was having contractions 8-9 minutes apart, but luckily they ended and Baby Logan was able to stay safe in his oven. It was super scary and stressful just thinking about her and all the possible things that could happen. It was hard for me emotionally, but I cannot imagine what it was for her and her husband. Pure craziness! Luckily, she was able to get discharged today after 4 days in the hospital, so now hopefully she stays out until Logan is due in April!
Friday night I had an odd feeling/sensation. I got home late from the hospital after picking up my niece from her MewMaw's house (they've had her since Emily got admitted), and dropped her off at my moms because she wanted to stay there. So I went right to bed to try and get a good sleep. I laid down and from my belly button to the top of my pubic bone I felt like my stomach was getting ripped out...apparently Colton had decided to flip short ways instead of long ways! I grabbed my belly and was like 'what the hell!' Then I took my hand off and he did it again!! Oh it hurrrrrrrrt! But I'll take it :) it's just my little guy moving all around trying to get comfy :)
Super glad Emily is home in her own bed tonight...

We picked a name...
I can't believe I totally forgot to post about this! We officially decided on a name a couple weeks ago. So we are no longer referring to him as "the kid," "the baby," "him," "it," he actually has a for real name! Drum roll please.....Colton Ray! I love the name Colton and Ray is Kyle's dad's middle name and his grandfather's first name, so there is a little family history behind it :)
A First...
I originally tried typing this Tuesday, but the stupid blogger app wouldn't let me post it from my phone for some reason so I'm just now getting done from my computer.
Anyway, so on Tuesday I had a couple of pregnancy 'firsts.' First, I had two guy that work in our cafeteria at work notice I'm pregnant and asked...that makes them the first two to NOTICE I'm pregnant...which means I'm coming out of the awkward 'is she fat or pregnant' stage! The first guy works as the cook, and he asked how many months I was; I told him 5 and he said he would have guess 3 or 4. Then I went to check out and the cashier ask if he could ask me something personal. I said yes, and he asked if I was pregnant! That makes two people in one day!! Woohoo! I feel like I hit a milestone of some sort :)
Then, later in the afternoon, I was leaving a building and saw a guy looking at me smiling. I told him hi and asked how he was doing. He said great and asks 'are you pregnant?' I told him yes, and he said 'I thought so, pregnant girls are hot!' I just laughed and walked off. Too funny! Never been told a pregnant girl was hot...guess he has some sort of 'thing' for pregnant chicks. Haha! Either way...I'll take a compliment!! Kind of made my day :)

Bump-Date: Week 21
Baby Size: 10.5"; Carrot
Baby Weight: 12.2oz
*********************
This week my hormones were pretty intense and crazy. I was up one minute and down the next...got old fast. I also found little things irritating me, and little things setting me off. Something as simple as seeing someone's name on the caller ID would send me into a rage or make me cry. Craziness! I also noticed that my belly really started to seem to grow a lot this week. As the belly is growing, I have noticed my belly button is starting to look/feel funny. It is stretching out and is super super soft! I assume this is happening because everything is stretching, but it's just weird is all. Also have noticed my belly still has a point around my belly button/waist area...again not sure why just weird...Oh well! Here's some pics :)

Hormones Be a Raging...
My goodness my hormones are raging today!! One minute I'm up, then I'm down; happy then sad, mad then glad. So frustrating. I cried on the way to work today...why you ask...because I thought I left my ID card at home. Not having it isn't a big deal, just means another person in the office has to open my office door. But goodness this morning it about killed me. I hope these things level out soon, but...I have a feeling they are just getting started...
