1st Christmas....

Colton was a really good boy this year and Santa came to visit!  Not only did he get great goodies from Santa, like a walker and toys, but he also got great gifts from Gigi/Pops, Grandma/Grandpa, and all the aunts/uncles/cousins!  He definitely has more than enough toys now!!

Merry Christmas!

6 Month Update...

Colton went for his 6 month check up last week; he weight 21 lbs & 15 oz and was 28 1/4" long!  My big lil' man is in the +95% on weight and 90-95% on length.  He is a big boy, but the pediatrician said his is in proportion so he isn't worried about it.  Maybe we have a line backer on our hands...

Last week Colton also rolled over for the first time from his back to his tummy; he's all over the place now!  Since he can officially roll over and back over, he just flips and flops all day it seems like :)  He is also sitting up great!  We still put something on the floor behind him, but not to support him, just to soften the fall if he decides to launch backwards.  He just sits there and plays with his toys and is starting to reach for things when he wants them...that means crawling is in the near future!

Daycare...

We officially switched daycare's on December 3rd and Colton now goes to daycare at my work :)  I didn't think I would like it at first, but now that he has been here a couple of weeks, I really love it!!  I love knowing he is just on the other side of campus, I love seeing friendly/familiar faces, and I love that there are kiddos in the room that I know their parents and will get to see them grow with Colton.  The staff is so nice and awesome with Colton...and again I know them!  The one thing that scared me most about moving him to work, ended up making it the one thing I love; seeing all the familiar faces.  Loving it so far!

Time Flys...

My oh my how time flys!  I can't believe Colton is already 6 months old!  In the last 6 months we have accomplished many things:
  • sleeping through the night
  • eating fruits, veggies, and meats
  • rolling from tummy to back
  • trying to roll from back to tummy
  • sitting up
  • 'talking'
  • teething
It is just crazy how fast everything happens, and how much they change in a short 6 months.  When I was pregnant and before, 6 months seems to drag on, but now 6 months is flying by before my eyes.  Before long he will be crawling, walking, talking, and growing bigger and bigger.  It is crazy how much they change in a short amount of time...and to think how small he was this time last year.  Tomorrow Colton is moving to a new daycare, one closer to me...like AT my work :)  I am super excited to have him so close to me during the day and to know he is in good hands.  Our last daycare wasn't really working for us.  I know that no place will be perfect, but I felt like he needed to be somewhere else other than our original daycare.  This month will also be Colton's first Christmas.  We already have the tree up and he love staring at the lights and reaching for the ornaments; I'm soo happy he can't crawl yet otherwise I don't think our tree would survive!

A Fathers Love...

I never knew how much I could love him, until I saw how much he loves him.

Grandma was here!

Grandma Wichman was here!  She was here for just over a week to spend time snuggling and loving all over Colton.  Grandma loved being here with us and seeing Colton for the first time; she was even here for a first of his, he rolled over from his tummy to his back all on his own!  Daddy and him have been working on it, but this week he did it all on his own and now rolls over from his tummy; you just have to put him on his tummy first :) I'm sure he'll be rolling from his back to his tummy soon enough too. While Grandma was in town we just hung around the house mostly and went to town a few times, I'm sure when she comes next time and Colton is a little older we will be able to do more like go to the zoo and go places we can all enjoy without having to worry about him getting fussy.  We were all sad to see her go, but we will be venturing to Montana in the spring and will get to see her and everyone else again :)

5 months

Well Mr. Colton is 5 months old now!  He's getting so big and is growing way faster than I expected.  He is such a big boy, no literally, he is a big boy :) he is big for his age, and is actually as big as cousin Logan who is 2 months older!  With all he has been eating it really doesn't surprise me though...I am not looking forward to his food bill when he's a teenager!  Colton is trying to roll from his tummy to his back, but isn't really interested in trying to roll from his back to his tummy...I'm sure he will be doing that soon enough though.  We are starting to Christmas shop for the little man and it is way harder than I expected.  I guess it is kind of harder because I have mad it hard by buying this early instead of waiting until Christmas :) Like we were going to buy a jumper for him for Christmas, but I found one for a great deal and couldn't pass it up; I'm glad now I didn't wait because he loves LOVES the jumper.  He hasn't started cutting teeth yet but he drools all the time and all over everything.  Oh one funny thing, he has found his voice and 'talks' all the time; sometimes he tries to reach a different octave and you can hear his voice cutting in and out...super cute!!

Hands and fingers always in his mouth

1st Halloween

Colton got to have his first Halloween this year :)  He was a super cute skeleton!  We didn't take him out on the town or anything, we went to Granny's on Sunday before Halloween to trick or treat with Rachael and Logan at her house, then we went to Pops and Gigis on Halloween night.  Here are a couple pictures...

Jump jump...

I recently bought a Jumperoo Colton and he loves it!  When we first got the jumper Colton wasn't sure what to do with it, but as soon as he learned how to jump he hasn't stopped...he literally will jump for like 30 minutes.  It is great exercise for his legs and helps strengthen his back, but my goodness I'm not sure how his legs aren't sore! Mine would be sore after just 2 minutes of jumping like he does.

Down by the water...

On September 29th Colton, Logan, and Rachael all got baptized!  It was great having all three of the kiddos baptized at the same time, it made it super special :)  Colton did good during the entire ceremony, Logan jibber jabbed throughout it all, and Rachael did great...just got a little scared when it came time to pour the water on her head.  After the ceremony we all went back to our house for nachos and cookie cake.  It was just all so great!  Here are a few pictures...

What he gets...

I think it is awesome how we can look at Colton and see parts of each of us in him.  Here's the current break down :)

Mommy:
  • Lips
  • Nose
  • Feet/Toes
Daddy:
  • Legs
  • Hands/fingers
  • Facial expressions--he raises his eyebrows and makes the same expressions Daddy does!

Love that laugh!

Almost 4 months...

I can't believe Colton is already almost 4 months old!  My crazy little man is not so little; he is currently in 6-9 month clothes and is fixing to go up to 9 month for his jammies because of those long legs he gets from his daddy.  He is sleeping all night, eating rice cereal, oatmeal, pears, and applesauce, and loves apple, pear, and white grape juice!  He is growing more and more everyday and is learning so much.  He is such as a happy baby, and we sooo lucked out because is he a super easy baby.  There are very few times when he is upset or fussy, typically only when he's not feeling well or tired.  He hold his head up high, and loves tummy time :)  That really helps him to strengthen all those little muscles in his neck and back.  He is already trying to roll over so it won't be too much longer before he is rolling all over the house!  He likes to scoot around on his back, and I actually found him under the coffee table to other day, he had scooted off his play mat and got stuck under there :) it was too funny!  Well here are some pictures of my growing man...

Such a big boy!
