*********************

I have been feeling the time crunch and have started working hard(ish) on the nursery!  Everything has been going good for the most part.  I had a routine appointment on Thursday with my ob, and he is concerned because I am measuring 1.5cm smaller than I should be at the point I am in this pregnancy.  He has referred me for an additionally ultrasound to check for a few things:
  • Size of my uterus
  • Amniotic fluid levels
  • Position of Dylan
  • Size of Dylan
Any of which can contribute to measuring smaller than normal.  I know 1.5cm doesn't sound like much, but 1 cm equals 1 week of growth; so that measure I'm measuring 1.5 weeks smaller than I should be at this point...so really 33.5 weeks not 35 weeks.  It is a little nerve wracking, but my appointment is this morning so only a couple more hours!  I just hope they can tell me if anything is wrong today and not make me wait until my next appointment with him Thursday.  On the plus side, we get a sneak peek at the little fella! :)

Meet Baby #2

I went to my first doctors appointment Tuesday and got to meet our little peanut!  Unfortunately Kyle was out of town with work, and wasn't able to go, but he gets to 'meet' the peanut in a for real picture (not just a text of the picture) tonight when he gets home!  World meet peanut...peanut world!

Peanut 2014

We have a due date of September 6, 2014!  If this one follows suit with Colton, it will hopefully be an August baby :) I had it figured as 7w3d and measure 7w1d, so I wasn’t off too much!  If you look closely you can see where the leg and arm buds are…DR said they should be real arms in the next week or so.  I got to see the heartbeat flutter, although it isn’t loud enough yet to be able to hear it…that comes at our next appointment at 12 weeks.  Check out the comparison of Colton’s at 6w1d, crazy how much 7 shorts days changes in their world so much!

I have been feel nauseated off and on for the last couple of weeks, and have developed a strange…yes strange…food aversion.  I can’t eat baked chicken!  I mean I literally can’t eat it!  I tried fried chicken nuggets from Chick-fil-a and was able to eat them, but later that day I ate with my parents and they had crockpot chicken breast and I couldn’t eat those.  That’s 4 times already that I haven’t been able to each baked/pan cooked chicken…just the fried that one time!  I LOVE chicken and cook it a lot, so I’m hoping this is temporary and doesn’t last too long; with Colton I couldn’t eat yogurt the entire pregnancy.  I have noticed as well that my parents are starting to get a little tighter, but I’m sure it’s just bloat since the peanut is so small :) my DR did say that I would show sooner with this one since it is my second and my uterus and stomach muscles know what to do…so this could be interesting!

2nd Ultrasound

Thursday I had my second ultrasound to check the location of the placenta again...hoping it moved out of the way!  I was anxious thinking we  would leave knowing where it was, but the tech said I have to wait until next week to get the 'official' report from the doctor...boo!  I just want to know where it is and what the chances are of me needing a c-section...dang previa!

On a better note...we got to see Colton!  This time he was much more cooperative, and we were able to get a profile shot of him :)  Such a cutie if you ask me!  My little brother...I say little he's 17 almost 18...went with me to town and we met Kyle at the appointment and he was able to go back with us and see the ultrasound.  He said it was a little weird but cool too!  I don't know if he really enjoyed it or not, but it meant a lot to me that he was there to see Colton :)  Goodness has my little man grown so much since January!!  He's so big, and we actually got a picture of him with his hand in his mouth, and could see his mouth moving and his eyes blinking.  I told my mom about that, and she said it's amazing how much ultrasounds have advanced since my brother was born almost 18 years ago.  June's coming up quick!!

20 Week Dr. Appt

So today was my 20 week doctors appointment and I got to hear my little man's heartbeat...A-Mazing!  He briefly went over the ultrasound that I had done on the 16th and said everything with baby was good and normal.  However, I have to go for another ultrasound around 28 weeks to look at my placenta.  On the 16th they saw I have marginal previa.  Marginal previa means that my placenta partially covers my cervix; below is a picture I found when I got back...I'm a visual person :)

So my DR thinks that as my uterus grows the placenta should pull up and away from the cervix.  They should be able to tell at 28 weeks if it's moved any, and from there be able to determine how far from my cervix it should end up.  Depending on if the placenta does or doesn't move, and if it does how far, I may need a c-section.  With the placenta being so low it can cause issues during labor/delivery and would want to do what's best for me and the baby.  I'm personally cool with a c-section!  I've kind of been telling myself I will get one since our confirmation appointment when the doctor mentioned the baby implanted right by my cervix versus at the top or side of my uterus.  C-sections don't both me at all, I'm just not looking forward to the recovery is all...but hey...all my junk will stay normal!! Haha!!!  I guess only time will tell.

Must admit though...I am excited to get to see the fella again in 8 weeks :)

Ultrasound Pics

We have yet to agree on a name, so Baby Boy he remains.  Since baby boy was a little uncooperative at our appointment, I didn't get too many 'awesome' shots, but I did get a couple super cute ones!  Enjoy!  The first one shows his legs going over his head, and the second one he is waving hello to mommy and daddy :)  there was one that was pretty neat, where you can see him balled up with his legs and arms curled together.  It was amazing to see him in there moving around and knowing that it was all going on inside of me!  That still just baffles me, how I have this little guy growing in me, and he's separate from me while being a part of me at the same time.  Truly amazing!

It's a baby...

Well today was our ultrasound,  and after much time they were able to tell it's a boy! He was a little uncooperative, but the tech was able to see everything she needed. So far as we can tell everything looks healthy :) I will post pics soon!

Ultrasound Tomorrow!

Tomorrow is the big day...hopefully...that we find out whether the bambino is a boy or girl!  I am soooo ready to find out; I hate referring to the baby as 'it', 'he', 'she', 'kid' or whatever.  I feel bad saying boy because what if it's a girl, or vice versa...then I feel bad calling it well...'it'.  That just sounds so cold and lifeless, and this is joyous.

I have been dreaming, literally, about this day for a couple weeks now.  In some of the dreams we find out it's a boy or girl, in one there were twins in there, in another the baby had it's hands over it's parts like 'haha you can't see me!!'  That last one is my all time favorite though! :)  Hopefully we call tell, but if not, as long as everything else checks out that's all that really matters!

In less than 24 hours we will hopefully know!!

Met our baby...

Well today was our first ultrasound appointment and got to see our little bean!  Funny enough...my parents pointed out that it looks like an inverted black-eyed pea!  Originally the doctor thought I was 6w5d with a due date of June 10th, but once he measured he saw I was 6w1d with a due date of June 14th.  I knew it was going to be later than my due date based on my last period because I ovulated late by 4 days according to my OPK.  Sure enough, I was right!  Everything was great, the measurements were right on for 6 weeks and we even got to see the flutter of the heartbeat!!  The dr said the heartbeat looked strong, so we were happy.  The only thing that the dr pointed out was that the baby attached at the bottom of my uterus, but he said that wasn't a big concern and could be handled at labor if something was wrong.  So without further ado...I introduce to you...Baby Wichman!

Oooooooo Ahhhhh it's so cute!  Weren't my parents right?!?  Doesn't it look kind of like an inverted black-eyed pea?!?

So now the debate begins...when to tell everyone.  I have mixed feelings about it.  I would love to tell everyone, but at the same time I would like to air on the side of caution.  I don't feel like telling people increases our chances of a miscarriage or anything, but at the same time I worry if we tell people and something happens then what?  With that being said, if something does happen we can just be honest and tell them X happened.  I don't think miscarrying is something to be ashamed of or anything, it's just something....well personal really.  Kyle is ready to tell, and I am, but to just cautiously tell maybe.  Ya know...tell a few and let the word spread on its own...just not announce it over the loud speaker at Walmart or anything.  We will just have to talk it out I guess :) and decide what's best for us!
